A crude oil treatment system may require many processes, including pre-heating, de-gassing, free water removal and heating.
Our emulsion treaters are designed to use any combination of the above functions. In addition, special features and options can extend a treater’s versatality and enhance its efficiency.
The system gives a continuous flow separation where the inflowing well stream separates into gas and liquids. Gas is then vented through the top of the vessel, while liquids flow through a downcomer exiting below the firetube.
Specially designed baffles direct the free water downward and the lighter oil/water emulsion upward. The emulsion rises past the firetube, absorbing heat. Heat and the scrubbing action of the baffle trays breaks the emulsion as it passes through the vessel. Separated water drops coalesce and settle to the bottom of the treater through a valve monitored siphon. Oil is removed at the top through a control valve.
